AgriNovus Indiana announced James “Jay” Hulbert, President and Chief Executive Officer of Ag Alumni Seed, has joined its Executive Steering Committee. AgriNovus Indiana is a strategic initiative comprised of individuals, businesses, universities and government leaders across Indiana’s diverse food and agricultural sector. The organization is guided by an Executive Steering Committee comprised of key industry stakeholders and influencers who help guide the mission and vision of AgriNovus Indiana.

“Jay’s experience brings great value to our organization,” said President and CEO of AgriNovus Indiana, Beth Bechdol. “Ag Alumni Seed is the world’s leading breeder, producer and marketer of hybrid popcorn seed. Jay’s international experience and ability to build strategic collaborations in agbiosciences throughout his career will be great assets to AgriNovus Indiana and to the entire food and ag innovation sector.”

Hulbert is a seasoned executive leader who has been active in agribusiness organizations for more than three decades. He started his career at his family farm, Hulbert Farms, Inc. and since has served in national and international sales and leadership roles for companies such as Petoseed Co., Seminis, Inc., International Garden Products and Prosilio Partners, LLC. Hulbert served as an Officer in the U.S. Marine Corps. He earned his bachelor of arts degree in history from University of Washington.

“At Ag Alumni Seed, an explicit part of our mission as a nonprofit is to support Indiana Agriculture,” said Hulbert. “Working as part of AgriNovus Indiana is just a new and exciting way for us to do that, and we are glad to participate.”
