Anderson, IN (October 30, 2018) – This week’s ribbon cutting ceremony marked the official grand opening of Italpollina’s North America headquarters – one of the largest biostimulant production facilities for use in agriculture in the world.
Jon Leman, Commercial Vice President of Italpollina USA, Inc. emceed the event. As he introduced Mayor Thomas Broderick of Anderson, he expressed his appreciation to the Mayor and his staff for embracing the Italpollina project, and spoke to the excellent job they did in helping make Italpollina’s inaugural plant in the United States happen in Anderson.
In his remarks, Mayor Broderick officially welcomed Italpollina to the city of Anderson. “It is exciting to know that [Italpolllina] came from Italy and chose Anderson to do business,” he said, adding “ it is exciting to hear that the products they are producing here in Anderson are not only being distributed in North America, but also being exported internationally . . . putting Anderson back in the mix of this global economy.”
Luca Bonini, CEO of Italpollina also addressed the crowd. In his remarks, he reflected about the past, quipping “who would have thought five years ago, as we started [Italpollina USA, Inc.] as a commercial subsidiary of Italpollina, that we could be opening a plant in the US.” This plant, a state-of-the-art 70,000 sq. ft. facility, produces the company’s hallmark 100% vegetal-based products.
As Bonini continued, he looked to the future, reinforcing the company’s unrelenting commitment to developing sustainable agricultural solutions and technologies, suggesting that the company has exciting developments on the horizon – in production technologies and the building of a new Research and Development center. “We want Anderson to not only be a production site, but also a site where we develop new products and new technology,” he said.
